Regional School Program Para Educator
Educational professional to assist the Regional School teachers in the achievement of
teaching objectives by working with individual students or small groups to help them
achieve the skill levels of the class as a whole.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- Passing score on the Kentucky Paraeducator Assessment or 60 college hours.
Responsibilities
- Administer, score, and record such achievement and diagnostic test as the teacher recommends for individual students.
- Work with individual students or small groups of students to reinforce learning of material or skills initially introduced by the teacher.
- Assist the teacher in devising special strategies for reinforcing material or skills based on a sympathetic understanding of individual students, their needs, interest, and abilities.
- Operate and care for equipment used in the classroom for instructional purposes.
- Help students master equipment or instructional materials assigned by teacher.
- Assist students with technology based learning and/or other software programs.
- Maintain the same high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students as is expected of fully licensed teachers.
